Just $ave it!

Save your money! < For those impatient people that want to get to the point of the post in the very first line... :)
It is imperative that you put a portion of you money in a savings account. You may have heard the quote “save for a rainy day.” but look at it however you choose. I say “save for a sunny day!”
Know what you want. Create a goal and decided how much you want to spend and how long it will take you to save that amount. It doesn’t matter if your goal is big or small (you can save for a day at the spa or a new car), but your goal must be SMART= Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.

At first, it might seem like a chore to save your hard earned money, but with time it becomes so easy.  If you start small, like save 5% of every paycheck you will be surprised at how quickly it adds up. Set your account on AUTOMATIC savings, that way you won’t even have to think about it and your cash will be directly deposited into your savings account.
I know instant gratification feels so good, and sometimes we just want what we want when we want it. Why wait when that sparkly credit card is just there waiting to be swiped? I’ll tell you why- BECAUSE IT CAN WAIT, trust me, you will not die.
In the event that you might die if you do not swipe your credit card, like a medical emergency, you don’t want plastic to be your only option. Life is full of the unexpected, so be prepared.

$

Welcome to my blog about the one thing you can’t live without, MONEY. First off, money isn’t everything, but it is required for life. You want the GOOD life, right?
I call this blog Uncommon Cents because financial sense is not common.
Consider this Money 101- where you will find the basics and then some. Learning how to manage your money is imperative to total life success. Having money sense will get you where you want to be in life and keep you out of situations that you do not want to be in.
It truly excites me to start my own personal blog about money because, I like money! On a deeper level, I want to share what I have learned through research and experience. There are so many people out there that don’t know the first thing about money and make unnecessary mistakes trying to figure it out on their own.
So come, learn, and live well.
